On August 9, three area school districts — Cotter, Flippin and Yellville-Summit — came together for an important safety presentation at Yellville-Summit gymnasium. The presentation was led by Andy Arnold, a representative from the I Love U Guys Foundation, an organization dedicated to school safety and crisis response.
The event focused on the Standard Response Protocol (SRP), a set of clear, action-based responses to any school emergency. Arnold shared critical insights on how schools can effectively prepare for and respond to various emergencies, emphasizing the importance of communication, preparedness, and community involvement.
Wes Henderson, Superintendent of Y-S, praised the presentation, saying, "The safety of our students and staff is paramount, and today’s session provided invaluable, common sense tools and knowledge to enhance our preparedness. We are grateful to the I Love U Guys Foundation for their dedication to this cause."
The collaboration among the three schools highlights a shared commitment to creating a safe learning environment for all students. The event was well-received by attendees, who left with a deeper understanding of the protocols and a renewed focus on school safety.
