We held our 3rd and 4th grade Honor Roll Assembly this morning! 🎉 Congratulations to these students who earned All A’s or a spot on the 3.0 Honor Roll!

Today, our seniors had the opportunity to apply to colleges and technical schools as part of National College Application Month! October is all about taking that next step toward their future, and we are excited to see the doors that will open for these students. We are so proud of our seniors for taking this important step and can’t wait to see all the amazing things they accomplish! The future is theirs, and we’re cheering them on every step of the way!

We look forward to seeing our families this Thursday for Parent/Teacher Conferences! Please take note of the following schedule and locations:

Yesterday, our Yellville-Summit FBLA officers represented our chapter with pride at the District VI Leadership Conference at Arkansas State University-Mountain Home! A huge congratulations to our officers for stepping up to lead! A few highlights from the day: Our Yellville-Summit FBLA President Ava Chism sang a beautiful National Anthem, presented our local chapter’s community service projects, and was officially installed as the District VI Secretary! Lila Hurley, Addison Craighead, and Michelle Twardowski were officially installed as our new local chapter officers! We are so proud of these leaders for representing our Y-S FBLA chapter, inspiring excellence, and kicking off what is sure to be an amazing year for FBLA! They demonstrated all aspects of integrity, kindness, and humility today.

Congratulations to our agriculture teacher, Katherine Quinn, on being named a finalist for the 2026 Stars of the Industry Educator of the Year Award!

Presented by the Arkansas Hospitality Association, this award recognizes a secondary or post-secondary educator who demonstrates a strong commitment to students and a true passion for hospitality, tourism, or culinary education.

We are proud to see Mrs. Quinn recognized among educators from across Arkansas for the impact she makes on her students and in our community. Congratulations on this well-deserved honor! ⭐

We're excited to share that the Yellville-Summit High School library has been awarded a $3,000 youth literacy grant from the Dollar General Literacy Foundation! Mrs. Shipman's grant application, "Stories for Every Student," will provide Playaway audiobooks and matching print books, giving students another way to experience literature and discover stories they enjoy. This project offers students the opportunity to listen to books while staying engaged with quality literature, just in a different format. Westin Swearingen was chosen as Arkansas Democrat Gazette Player of the Week. This player is chosen out of all football playing schools, public and private, and every classification. He was invited to the Little Rock Touchdown Club Monday to stand alongside future NFL HOFer and Razorback, Jason Peters while honored with a plaque. While he was honored today, we are honored he’s one of ours! A true Panther!

Winner, winner! These band students won an in-class competition and their prize is the awesome Game Day Bibs! Kelly had the highest score on a playing test and Kieran was the first to play his halftime music from memory! Congratulations to these awesome band students!

Mrs. Droz and Mrs. Harness took their Seventh grade art students to see ARTRAGEOUS! It is part of the 15th Anniversary Season of Performing Arts at ASU–Mountain Home and was paid for as part of ASUMH commitment to bringing outstanding performing arts experiences to young people throughout our region.

Our student Mikah got to show off his backflip skills on stage! We also got ice cream and went to the park 😎
