Important Update Regarding School Safety - September 9, 2024: This morning at 6:00 a.m., we were alerted by the Sheriff’s Office about a potential threat of a school shooting targeting Marion County Schools. We immediately notified all parents, guardians, faculty, and staff via text to keep everyone informed. Please be assured that we have taken immediate steps to protect our students, staff, and community. We want to clarify that law enforcement has confirmed the social media posts being shared locally originated in Marion County, Kentucky, and the individual responsible was arrested this morning. You may notice an increased police presence around our school over the next few days. Due to the timing of this situation, we understand that some families did not send their children to school today. Any child not attending school today will be marked excused. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide updates if more information becomes available. The safety of our students remains our top priority, and we appreciate your cooperation and understanding during this time.

The 3-A2 Conference in following with most of the state has set an admission charge of $5 per person regardless of student or adult. Yellville-Summit will offset this as much as possible by having certain games set as "Free Admission for Y-S students." If this is successful, we will continue it into basketball season. Free admission for Y-S students will be at the following games: Volleyball: - August 26 vs Cotter (season opener) - Sept 3 vs Flippin Jr Football: - Aug 30 vs ICC (season opener) - Sept 12 vs Hector Sr Football: - Sept 20 vs Berryville - Oct 11 vs Mountain View (Turkey Trot weekend) All sports passes will remain $55 for adults and $30 for students K-12. As always, all Y-S athletes and band members will get into every athletic event free with their passes!

We want to kick the class of 2025 senior year off with some helpful information! There will be a mandatory senior meeting August 8th at 6pm in the elementary cafeteria. We will have dinner available for everyone! We ask that parents/guardians and the senior are the only ones who attend. We have limited space and want to be able to accommodate the entire senior class.

The 45th session of Arkansas Governor’s School is in session at Arkansas Tech. Rising Seniors Elizabeth Smith and Mason Quinn were accepted into the Drama and Instrumental Music programs. Just under 400 students were selected into this year’s cohort. They’ve just finished up their first week of studying their content areas, social and leadership development areas.
